Chronic Disease Management
When pets develop chronic diseases like diabetes, arthritis, neurological disorders, become deaf and/or blind, or are difficult to handle to get to the veterinary hospital, care at home can relieve stress for the pet and its human family.
In-home Hospice
As with hospice care for people, hospice care for pets provides pain management and comfort care for pets who are no longer getting their conditions treated in anticipation of imminent death, once treatment is no longer effective. This includes pain medication, bedding and bandages to prevent breakdown of the skin on pressure points, aroma therapy, mobility assistance, fever management, and anything else to make the pet more comfortable.
In-home Euthanasia
When treatment can no longer help a pet nearing the end of life, the family may make the decision to put the pet to sleep or euthanize him or her to prevent the suffering that may occur if you wait for nature to take its course. Euthanasia means good death and this means the pet does not experience fear, anxiety or distress during and from the procedure. Our doctor uses the most current methods to ensure this outcome. The family can rest easy knowing that their pet will receive the kindest treatment possible. Your pet will never be out of your sight and touch from beginning to end. No catheter will be placed to stress you and your pet. You can hold your pet through the whole process, and as long afterward as you like.
